Reading books in English is a passion for me and has been for several years now. I used to read in German from time to time, but nowadays when I find books that interest me, I look for the English version. And if there isn’t one, I don’t read it.
Even though it was a long time ago, I can still remember my first book in English. Desperation by Stephen King, which I had already read in German. So I knew the plot but still, it took me three tries. Does one of you remember what your first book in English was?
Crime, especially Scandinavian, and Horror are my favourite genres, I’m not much of a romance reader. I’m trying to deepen my knowledge of fantasy novels. The Horseman by Christina Henry offers in my opinion a good way to begin that journey.
I am currently reading Holly by Stephen King and after that, I have several on my to-read list.
The Running Grave by Robert Galbraith
The Night House by Jo Nesbo
Alice by Christina Henry
Near the Bone by Christina Henry
Redemption by Jussi Adler-Olsen
The Lost Flowers by Holly Ringland
The Seven Skins of Esther Wilding by Holly Ringland
A time for mercy by John Grisham
and many more…😜
I also like to listen to audiobooks or podcasts while working, Storytel is my favourite library. There you can find a wide variety of titles in nearly every language. It’s there that I have found many true crime books I couldn’t find on paper.
Usually, I have two books that I read, one as an audio when I’m away, and the other on paper, which stays at home. Some books are too large to carry around in a backpack.
