In the latest book of Tahereh Mafi, we follow James Anderson on a mission to infiltrate in the old Reestablishment, while serial killer Rosabelle Wolff is on her mission trying to save her sister.
I have to admitโI DEVOURED this book! Itโs fast-paced, addictive and I absolutely loved being inside Jamesโs head. His perspective was refreshing and sharp. Rosabelle? A total badass. Sheโs morally grey in the best way and her action scenes were . Also, seeing all the original characters grown up filled me with so much nostalgiaโit honestly felt like coming home. And Warner with his WIFE? Everything. T_T
The ending set up the sequel perfectly, leaving just enough mystery to keep me hooked.
That said, not that much actually happened in this book. Donโt get me wrongโit wasnโt boring โbut it was giving a lot of nothing
. James and Rosabelle spent half the book justโฆ watching each other? I just wish there had been more action, rather than being bombarded with a thousand questions that now I have to wait to be answered in the next book
PS: LOVED THE GORGEOUS BOOK COVER AND PAGES
