“A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini powerfully portrays the destinies of the lives of two Afghan women with different characters, vividly revealing the struggles they face to cope before and during the Taliban regime. The author beautifully shifts between the two distinct perspectives which adds depth to the story. Also, I love the way how history is seamlessly woven into the narrative. It’s written with a heartbreaking beauty - you really cling to the story! If you plan to read the book, I would recommend not reading the blurb, because it contains some spoilers. This is way I rate this book with ⅘.
