The suspense went into high gear.
I believed I had revealed the truth more than once, but that belief was shattered every time. That’s how twisted Linwood Barclay writes; it got me confused in the beginning. I was convinced that the only way to move forward was to stop guessing too much about who could be behind it and just read. Just read and see where it goes, this approach helped me and lessened the confusion I had in the first place. I could begin to enjoy the story and develop an awareness of the finer details or the reading between the lines. The author keeps the suspense high until the last page, the outcome surprised me massively. I didn’t see that final twist coming, my first guess wasn’t verified I was far off the mark. Linwood Barclay has a way to leave you in the dark, a style I enjoyed much. Now that I know his way of building a plot I might be less confused the next time I read one of his books.
