Despite being a deftly plotted and fast-moving story I had difficulties getting warm with the characters. At first, Madison Rivera confused me until her internship began. That’s when she started to open up, I got to know her better, about her past and desires. I saw this as a starting point where all the mystery began, with masterfully placed twists that kept me guessing. Those unexpected twists made the story suspenseful and fun to read. The author’s hints left me in the dark only to be positively surprised by the finale when all is revealed. I liked the cat-and-mouse writing style very much, unlike what I usually read but certainly something to enjoy more often.
