This was my first book by Emily Henry and I have to say that I liked it so much that I read the whole book in one day. Needless to say, I really liked the story and there were even a few times when I chuckled out loud.
Contrary to what the blurb suggests, this story is not about revenge. After reading the first few chapters, my first impression was that this was going to be a solid romance book - but I think it was more than that. It’s not just a love story, it’s also a story about the importance of friendship. Of course, I really liked the romantic aspect of the book, and I loved how adventurous Daphne and Miles were - going to the beach at night, kayaking at sunrise, dancing at the senior prom and so on. I also really liked how the author shows her love for books through Daphne being a librarian and the descriptions of the books, the reading circle with the kids and the atmosphere in the library gave the whole thing such a cozy feel.
I will definitely check out Emily Henry’s other books and look forward to more romantic feel-good reads.
