I love this book. I should probably add it to my list of books that I reread every year which would make it the first one on this list. Anyway, I have watched some of Jill Bearups YouTube shorts, heard about the book being written and forgot about it. What a pleasant surprise to stumble upon the book in the bookshop. I didn’t read it in one sitting, but I wasn’t too far off from doing just that. It has got a gripping story (I mean, stories, my bad), an easy-to-read writing style, a lovely cover that matches the story perfectly, and amazing characters. It was the source of some fits of giggles, I love its humour, the interaction between the characters and it has a romance plot I actually really like (ah, maybe more than one romance plot which means I liked them all ;D). But it also got action, swords and knives, fights and flights, a little bit of mystery and treason. A wonderful mixture of all the things I like in a book. I think the parts with the POV of our courageous Lady Rosamund and the author Caroline where balanced and I enjoyed the story on both levels. It is one of the few books that left me completely satisfied, totally in love with wonderful characters and the sentence on my tongue: “You’ve got to read this one!”
