I feel like this should’ve been way shorter, as theres large passages where pretty much nothing happens. I’m also not quite sure if its really intended to be ya, as it read much more like an adult fantasy romance to me? The ending was very cheesy (especially the riddle) and it felt like its written to be a pretty escapist wish fulfillment fantasy (though nothing against anyone who wants to read stuff like that, i too do so). Call me horny but the sex scenes were surprisingly boring and vanilla too, considering the main love interest being a shapeshifter and the worldbuilding relied too much on characters telling the main character everything. Overall, i think other books like the cruel prince and the iron dragons daughter execute a similar concept better.
