One wrong number, an older brothers’ best friend and some steamy tension.

Alright, listen, I had some high expectations going into this book. And at some points it did deliver, but holy hell, I hate the fade-to-black moments. What even is this? Who invented this? Because whoever did that is worse than Satan. Like, why tease us and then don’t deliver? It’s not like it’s a high school romance. They are grown adults. And if it’s an innocent adult romance novel, don’t create so many steamy moments we would have loved to read.

I’ve read this book a few months ago, so I just had to look up their names again. Well, it’s not like I would remember the names of the MCs of the book I’ve read yesterday, so let’s just pretend. Anyways, our female main character Olivia receives a message from an unknown number of some dude who thought he got the right number. Obviously not. So they start texting and they really like each other, but Olivia obviously doesn’t know if that unknown number is some weirdo with some creepy habits. So, she kinda puts off meeting him because yikes. And at the same time, we see the POV of her older brother’s best friend, who is the one who’s sending the messages. And they both obviously don’t know that. On top of that, Olivia had to move in with her brother and Colin, the best friend.

As the title of this review already explains, it was a little disappointing. It’s a great book, don’t get me wrong. The banter is there, the tension is there and all the feelings. It’s just the fact that there were no intimate scenes!!! Like, all the steamy tension would have worked lovely with some action on page, but the author decided to keep it off the pages, for whatever reason. Maybe she’s not good at writing those kinds of scenes, but like… Why the tension if no smut? Although my rating is more of a 3.5 stars.
