Do you know Viola Davis, the actor? After reading this book or listening to it, I’m sure you will.
After reading it, the first expression that came to my mind was excellent. I know the author from various films and series. I came upon her book by coincidence while browsing through new releases. But when I saw the author herself read the audio file, I had to choose this option.
Her straightforward way of telling despite the use of strong language is fascinating, she’s not hiding anything. Viola Davis speaks about how it really is, what she felt, and how she overcame her fears. All these results in feeling so connected to her, letting the reader be a part of her story.
Despite her struggles in childhood and life in all, Viola Davis has really found her voice and her true self.
I was so immersed in the story that at first, I found it quite sad the end was so abrupt. I wish there would have been some more pages, or in my case more minutes to listen to.
If you have the chance to read the book or listen to it, go for it. I highly recommend it.
