the first chapters are quite heavy and I had to read them in bits. the depiction of a field lazarett in winter, with all gruesome details was almost too much for me.
but the story, the characters and the setting took hold of me.
In the end I had to know the mistery and so I read the last half of the book in one go.
a truly great read, gripping and emotional. I can only recommend it
