When I read the synopsis, I classified this story as fairly predictable. Just another passionate story under a tropical sun. Normally this genre is not my first choice, but I selected this title as a change from the crime novels I typically read.
I expected a light read, linked with some adventure and informative background on the period.
But quickly after the introduction of the characters, I realized that the plot is far from predictable.
Each page reveals more events, events you would never have dreamed of. The unexpected twists are fascinating, which results in wanting to devour it in one go.
When reading the book you realize how much work went into it, all the research is remarkable. All this background information coupled with pleasant characters and a little imagination, make this book an exciting read. Even though I don’t read a romance that often, I found this book exciting. Fans of this genre will definitely appreciate their money’s worth.
