Fanny I also really enjoy the book and writing style! It’s super easy to read but still nice and really entertaining language and not too simple. There are many parts that made me laugh out loud 😄
I don’t identify at all with Patch, in fact I find him not very likeable 🫤 I especially don’t like how he treats his friend Jean and wonder if that will lead to repercussions later on. On the other hand, thinking about his age, it’s probably a correct image of a teenager, since hes so absolutely self-centric 😆 however I personally struggle a bit with the fact that I can’t get myself to like him, it has been a long time I didn’t like the main or one of the main characters of a book. He still makes me laugh though, so that’s a big plus!
With respect to Sam and Peter, so far I don’t have too many thoughts/insights since Patch is so self-centric and doesn’t spend any time thinking about anyone else than himself, ie no real insights on the other folks given it’s written from his perspective. I would not be surprised if Sam was in fact into Patch and they end up together, and Jean with Peter, or even only the latter couple, which may lead to a big fight Patch/Jean that could be fun! 🤔😄
In terms of scenes/passages I like most, I like Patch’s interactions with Ms Bennet (or similar name?), the wise teacher, they are all hilarious! 😂 And also all the references to his mom’s self help books, really really funny!
So while I don’t like Patch too much, I still look forward to the rest of the book for many more laughs! 🤗
