The best part of this book is the author’s ability to conduct in-depth research, which hasn’t changed throughout the series so far. Otherwise, the series got rather stale with characters stuck in their ways. The case itself felt too unpredictable, and the way Linley and Havers were introduced to the case was too far-fetched. Their involvement is close to nothing. At some point, I thought I was not reading a Linley story at all. The lack of suspense and depth in the characters made reading this story long-winded and unexciting.
