This book was everything I’ve been looking for…and more!! I’m OBSESSED with the squad, with the world-bUilding, and with the writing!
I love the way there was is diverse representation, how the female characters could be both soft and badass, the different POVS and the romance subplots. I’m usually a bit sceptical about the found family trope, but it fits so well in here and the different relationships are great! I also loved how they were all anti-heroes, which made the story really special. Their trauma didn’t excuse everything, but it explained their behaviour, which was portrayed perfectly.
I’m definitely happy that there’s a second book, because I feel like some characters could use more depth and I’m going to read it right now, so wish me luck hihihi
I think this is on of the best YA fantasy novel I’ve ever read — please go try it out!!
