El Aleph is not a book you read, it’s a book you think through. It’s a collection of short stories that explore big abstract ideas: time, death, memory, identity, infinity. Some stories left me confused, other left me speechless. All of them stayed with me. Borges doesn’t write to entertain, he writes to provoke. His style is dense, layered, and often intimidating… but incredibly rewarding if you let it challenge you.
Not everything made sense on the first read. That’s ok. this isn’t a book you “finish”. It’s a book you return to. I’m sure I will.
