I began this novel without having read any recommendations, and I wasn’t aware that there was a hype around this title. Just a glance at the summary on the cover was enough to categorise it as suitable for those times when I’d like to read something less demanding. The story and characters flow along nicely, but without creating any depth. Certain topics in this novel would have profited from receiving more attention, too shallow for me.
