I love this book!
Grave Expectations delivers everything I didn’t even know I wanted from a cozy mystery: a struggling medium just trying to pay her bills, her ghost best friend, a non-binary and sassy teen and an ex-cop who clearly needs a break. Put them all together and you’ve got a delightfully unhinged mystery-solving squad. What starts as a chaotic family gathering slowly unravels into something even messier. And yes, I did try to solve the mystery myself, but mostly I was too busy laughing my butt off at the dialogue/story.
This book is cozy, but it’s also gripping and weirdly heartwarming. It’s filled with enough ghoulish giggles and classic whodunnit energy to satisfy mystery fans and ghost lovers alike. Because honestly: ghost bestie? sassy teen? haunted mayhem? What else do you need?
