If I’m getting out of prison after ten years and the first person I see outside greets me with a Shakespeare quote, I’m going straight back in, this time for life.
Okay, I liked the setting, I liked the dynamic among the characters and M. L. Rio created a nice vibe. BUT the pretentiousness of these characters was unparalleled and not made fun of. Not even a little bit. The plot was fine but not interesting enough. I waited for a great mystery, an unexpected element but everything turned out pretty much as I expected it to. Some characters were fun but they consisted mainly of stereotypes. We had so many pages to explore them properly yet we didn’t do much more than scratch the surface. And I hated the ending. Horrible.
This was not a book for me.
