Kate Morton has written many books so far, I think The Distant Hours is one of the most powerful I have read by her. I instantly felt at home, those well-placed but barely recognized hints got me hooked. The author has an intricate way of leaving little highlights along the way.
Not only Edie Burchill is drawn to Milderhurst Castle, but I am too. I am completely satisfied with how the plot progressed, there’s nothing left to be desired. The main protagonist is a real sweetheart, a perfect balance to the other characters in the book.
For me, this story ticks every box, pleasant to read with suspense at the right places. I couldn’t wish for more.
