I went blind into this book because it came in my Fairyloot sub.
The first description of Seokga draw me in immediately. I love him. He is so fucking cocky and grumpy, I can’t cope. The “relationship” Hanni and Seokga have in the beginning is absolutely hilarious.
I find it refreshing that the actions of Hanni aren’t all good, she makes mistakes, she lies etc. and it’s not forgiven just like that. I also very much enjoyed how the dynamic between Hanni and Seokga subtly and slowly changed, it didn’t feel forced one bit.
Generally speaking this book really had it all. Intriguing mysteries, hardships, lies, hate, love, the right amount of spice and a refreshing ending. 5 out of 5 absolutely deserved!
Now coming to the ending. I was so worried the ending is gonna flop. (Spoiler warning!) I’ve seen so many books and especially TV Series where the main character gets revived and their death ended up meaning absolutely nothing, but not this book. I love the way it has been done. Hanni dies for Seokga and it’s teased in the very end that she might have been reincarnated but it is made in such a way that it doesn’t feel undeserved. Really perfectly done.
