There are many books out there about the Yorkshire Ripper, more or less all of them are about the killer himself, his way of thinking and how he committed the crimes. These books lack one thing, the victims.
I always welcome a different approach to true crime, these true stories talk about the victims and survivors alone. Carol Ann Lee gives them a voice these women and relatives didn’t have for a long time. Each chapter is about one of those women, and how she was treated back then. The author puts a lot of emphasis on how the investigation was conducted, and the mistakes that were made. Carol Ann Lee has done a well-researched job, despite the gruesomeness worth reading.
