The author has tried to incorporate many ideas and intentions into this story, to create a world that takes place in the future. With different races and magical abilities. I found this to be a good basis from which an interesting story could develop, one reason why I wanted to read this book. What had initially attracted me magically was gone after the first few chapters. Because I read this book as part of a reading group, I didn’t want to give up straight away. Without excitement and enjoyment of the characters, it only became more tedious. In my opinion, the plot got a little lost in the creation of this future world, somehow too much of a good thing. The Glossary at the end is well intended, but I got more confused as I tried to keep all the magical components and classes apart.
I don’t recommend this book.
