Anyone who has read the books of Sarah J. Maas knows that this book is a bad copy of it. Each plot twist was more or less copied from TOG or ACOTAR and then advertised the book with them. Not only did I not like the story itself, but also the writing style and the characters. The writing style is boring and very simple. The characters were also superficially written and kept that way. The characteristics of the Sun King are that he is beautiful… nothing more, nothing less. The female main character had some substance in the beginning, but as soon as she left the prison, everything went downhill. After that, she was superficial and made comments that were borderline dangerous for me. I didn’t feel any connection between them. Even the actual love interest was so boringly written, hardly anything happened between them and they had one scene together. Didn’t convince me!
