Musical Theater lover Riley has been condemned to work at her fathers game store, after stealing her mothers car to see a play with her best friend. There she meets Nathan, a nerdy teenage boy who can’t help but annoy her.
When confronted by her ex-boyfriend, Riley quickly tells him that she does not miss him, and is not lonely at all. In fact, she is dating…Nathan…This lie leads to a pact between the two, to spare Riley the humiliation of having to admit she made up a fake boyfriend, and to make Nathan’s crush Sophia jealous. Riley joins Nathan and his friends for their Dungeons and Dragons roleplaying games just to flirt with him in front of Sophia, and for no other reasons at all…
Fake Dating and Miscommunication, but refreshingly unfrustrating. Dungeons&Drama is a more or less typical romance for the nerds and romance lovers alike. The writing feels slightly staged at some parts but overall, the book is a pleasant and easy read.
5 stars for the entertainment factor, and 4 stars for writing. Definitely worth the read.
