Lake Waco Texas, in July 1982 three teenage bodies were found, horribly mutilated. A whole town is devastated and in pain, is the killer one of their own?
True Crime writer Carlton Stowers has done a great job in writing this book, he hasn’t left out a detail connected to the case. Everyone who has played a direct or indirect role in the investigation is mentioned, with all the necessary background information, so that the reader can follow the story easily, even if it all happened a long time ago. The work of research is immense and is felt on every page, what caught me from the start was the retelling of scenarios. What, or how it might have happened up to the time of the murder. Based on actual evidence and witness reports. Despite all the effort, everyone in Waco has one thought at the back of their mind. that it wasn’t all for nothing. That after all that time, the victim’s families can find peace and bring the killer to justice.
It is a very detailed story with a lot of background, maybe it would also have worked out with less information.
But thanks to the fast-paced writing style and easy-to-follow vocabulary, it was a comfortable read.
