I’m an artist myself and accidentally stumbling over that one was a true present from heaven.
The title is based on one of Picassos work: Blue Period, which is super fitting to the theme of this story.
The young man named Yatora Yaguchi did nothing more in life than drinking, smoking and fooling around. People would call someone like him a rowdy. At first you would never expect him to have anything to do with art- neither did he. Until he painted a picture of a view he really liked for class one day and ended up being really hooked on the feeling to have finally transmitted his feelings to others for the first time in life. Yaguchi finally found something that he can passionately do. For someone that just began with art, its a hard rocky road ahead. Especially when you are surrounded by talented people that draws and paints since they were little. But that doesn’t stop him from wanting to paint. This manga shows the journey and struggles of a young artistic soul that tries his very best to move ahead. It shows the growth of someone that just discovered the beauty and suffering of wanting to do art. I recommend it to everyone- even to non manga reader!! (i’m sorry- languages isn’t my strenght)
