A cute and romantic Christmas read about a Christmas tree farm on the brink of bankruptcy and a fake relationship for a TV Show that might turn into more.
I’ve really heard a lot about this whole series on TikTok. It was described as a wholesome read and I kinda forgot to look up the description, so that’s how I ordered a Christmas read in the middle of July. But honestly? I really enjoyed it.
This story is about Stella, a Christmas tree farm owner. She has bought the place about two years ago and somehow, the pre-owner didn’t tell her about some debt he had accumulated over the years. So now Stella is almost bankrupt, and she finds out that a famous Influencer is producing a TV-Show about places that are worth visiting. Stella decides to apply, but she lies on the form and says she has a boyfriend with whom she bought the farm. But the catch is… Stella has no boyfriend. Only a best friend who would do anything for her, but they have been in each other’s friendzone for ten years. Everyone around them thinks they should be together, but Stella thinks he does not like her in that way. On the farm, there has also been some damage done by an outsider, deliveries have not shown up and Stella is worried the universe is working against her. Through all of that, she has to continue to lie to the influencer about the state of the farm and about her relationship.
As I said, I thought this was an enjoyable read. It would have been a real vibe to read this in December, but I kind got caught by the description on the backside and I just couldn’t wait to start it. This is just a light romance book with some friends-to-lovers and fake relationship tropes.
