Incredibly creative and massive in scale despite being rather short in number of pages. Its influence can be felt all over authors like arthur c clarke and it still holds up really well in my opinion. What other people might have a problem with is how slow the book is at times, due to the rather excessive descriptions of alien species. If you like that however and are searching for a book thats truly insane in terms of scale both in time and space, definitely give it a read. I’d call this the scifi version of the silmarillion.
