Santa, Please Bring Me a Boyfriend is a heartwarming and romantic comedy which will light up your heart, especially at Christmas but it’s a good read for every time you want to feel the spark of Christmas.
Since her husband left her, Rowan has too much to do with work and her teenage daughter to go looking for a suitable boyfriend or even think about Christmas shopping or advent calenders. But her friends have her back and arrange a posh advent calender with all the things she wouldn’t be able to buy herself. As excited she is about the presents, she’s much more excited about the guy who brings them, Alex. Soon she’s not just waiting for the next present to unwrap but for a chance to talk with Alex and maybe even more?
I needed a moment to get into the story and get to know Rowan which is much older than me (I’m 21), but when the story really started and we get to meet Alex the delivery guy I got addicted to this really cute story. It’s not that deep, but it’s funny, it made me feel-good and what’s most important for me, it made me root for Rowan and Alex and I couldn’t wait for them to get together.
I’m sure that I’m gonna read it once more when I’m a little older and maybe I can identify myself a little better with Rowan then. But for now it’s a feel-good romantic comedy playing in London with a nice British humour.
