I know Reese Witherspoon from various films and I have always marvelled at her style of acting, and her way of performing. Now I know where all this is coming from. Very impressive how she manages her career, family and her life as an entrepreneur.
I don’t know if all of her advice can be transformed into everyone’s lifestyle, but they sure make you think, that’s for sure. Some of her ideas and ways of living are utterly hilarious, making you smile throughout the whole book. I also liked her list of recommendations, always about the south, because there is more than just cooking it’s a way of living. With this book, Reese brings the south into our homes and lives.
The typical southern recipes, an heirloom of her grandmother, are mouthwatering, especially when you look at the pictures. You might want to start cooking right away.
If it’s for a party or any other festivity Reese has a plan for everything, peppered with a little bit of south. I don’t think that every woman who has read this book will now walk around with hot rollers in their hair, I won’t but I found this instruction and others very amusing.
With warmer weather, I will definitely try some of the recipes, the beverages in particular. And the fried chicken recipe has caught my eye too.
Whiskey in a teacup is surely a book to come back to, not only for the recipes.
Ready for a little honky tonk?
