That was like watching an 80’s possession-horror-movie, but better!
When a book manages to give me crawling skin and can’t-sit-with-my-back-to-an-open-space-anymore, then I know it’s a good horror book!
It was a captivating read, for sure, but for the people looking for info about the content I’m adding some CW in the next lines.
Apart from expected toxic behaviour since it’s a book about a demon-possession and it’s set in the 80s:
Physical and especially emotional child abuse, rape-mention and accusation (but no rape happens “on-screen”), a dog gets killed, some graphic stuff (don’t read while eating something, you’ll know when you’ve reached the part), suicidal behaviour a couple times
I recommend this to people that like old-fashioned horror movies, books with playlists and the 80s (there’s a cool playlist on Spotify to listen to while reading, but it’s out of order so I made my own: Dust Bunny ’88 Mix (book appearance order) !)
