Three friends want to do something good, they think becoming lawyers would help them achieve this dream.
Close to their graduation, they find out that they are victims of a big scam with no way of escape because all three are in debt.
With no chance of a profitable job, there’s no way to repay the law school loan.
A terrible event makes the three friends realise how hopeless their situation is. They desperately search for a plan that will allow them to pursue their dream.
What the three decide to do is not without risk; it could have serious consequences if they are discovered. Consequences that could change their lives completely.
Leaving the school is just the first step, others will follow and this is only to bring the perpetrator of their predicament to justice finally. As the plan slowly takes shape, the risk of getting caught increases, it’s only a matter of time.
John Grisham never disappoints me, and his stories are always very interesting. Although his stories are mostly about court cases, one is nevertheless always pleasantly surprised.
I had read it through within a week, this was not due to the number of pages but to the way it was written.
One might expect court cases to be rather dry and lengthy, but not with this author. John Grisham knows his craft; he is able to draw the reader into his spell. The main story, as well as the plot, is written very credibly the reader stays in the flow without getting confused despite the use of lawyer vocabulary.
I found the length of the book appropriate and the ending plausible.
I recommend this book not only to fans of John Grisham, anyone who enjoys a slightly different story might find it interesting.
