When the world falls apart a mother does unimaginable things to keep her family safe and protected, until she reaches a point where she can’t go further and a decision is needed in an instant.
What started as an easy read developed into a story i won’t forget so soon. Maybe it’s because the fear it could happen for real or the way the story is written felt so real to me. A bit of both I think, who knows what could happen in todays world. After the first few pages I couldn’t have guessed what would happen in the following chapters, that first twist in the plot appeared like a big bang. And from there everything was in the open, possibilities and danger taken into account. Always around the main thought: keep the family safe, no matter what.
The story plays mostly around Alex and her family and the danger they have to face, abandoned by the government and being completely alone. As a reader it kept me thinking, how the society in the real world would react, would everyone fight for themselves or work together?
A heartfelt read that kept me thinking long after completing the story.
