I felt like I was thrown right into the messy life and buzzing society of Highbury, and it was SO entertaining! I loved the characters and the plot kept switching things up with so many twists and turns that I never knew what would come up next. Emma, the main character, was so well written, and I loved watching her grow into a better version of herself. She’s self-centred, but also ironic, witty, confident and able to own up to her mistakes. I definitely grew attached to her and I completely get why people both love and hate her.
And don’t even get me started on Mr. Knightley - my love for this man is absolutely wild. I also adored watching the different love stories unfold. I was giggling and kicking my feet because the slow burn just kept building up so perfectly! I even caught myself trying to pair people up from time to time, but I was honestly just as bad as Emma.
This book has probably become my favorite Jane Austen novel. It was so good, so romantic, and so funny! I totally recommend it!
