What started out well with a fast paced story, an interesting world and characters went to quite boring pretty quickly. There is so much time spent in some cold woods, there is a lot of talking and explaining, with no real plot. Raina threw away her beliefs and convictions a bit too fast like “I guess the Witch Collector is not that bad at all and he’s also kinda hot”. If I spent a big part of my life hating some people, it would take a bit longer for me to change my mind. That’s also why the love between Alexus and Raina doesn’t feel genuine to me.
I did like some parts and enjoyed the writing style itself, there is a lot of potential in this book. It was sadly not well excecuted.
