In the latest book of Tahereh Mafi, we follow James Anderson on a mission to infiltrate in the old Reestablishment, while serial killer Rosabelle Wolff is on her mission trying to save her sister.
I have to admit—I DEVOURED this book! It’s fast-paced, addictive and I absolutely loved being inside James’s head. His perspective was refreshing and sharp. Rosabelle? A total badass. She’s morally grey in the best way and her action scenes were 💋. Also, seeing all the original characters grown up filled me with so much nostalgia—it honestly felt like coming home. And Warner with his WIFE? Everything. T_T
The ending set up the sequel perfectly, leaving just enough mystery to keep me hooked.
That said, not that much actually happened in this book. Don’t get me wrong—it wasn’t boring —but it was giving a lot of ✨nothing✨. James and Rosabelle spent half the book just… watching each other? I just wish there had been more action, rather than being bombarded with a thousand questions that now I have to wait to be answered in the next book
PS: LOVED THE GORGEOUS BOOK COVER AND PAGES 🎀
