This book is described as “Crazy Rich Asians” meets “Bridget Jones” on the back and it is exactly that.
I am a huge fan of “Crazy Rich Asians” and this book has a similar setting and background of the characters (Singapore, growing up with Chinese values etc.). One difference though is that Andrea Tang, the book’s main character, unlike most characters from Kevin Kwan’s series is not super rich. She is a hard working lawyer and although she has some annoying traits she does redeem herself towards the end of the book and is overall rather likeable. This book follows Andrea’s trial and errors in the Singaporean dating life and how she copes with her family’s pressure to find A) find a man, B) get married and C) get babies and all that rather sooner than later if her mother has a say in it.
This book is a super funny and entertaining read and if you liked “Crazy Rich Asians” and “Bridget Jones” you will love this!
