Who was Eva d’Orsey and why is Grace the sole beneficiary of her will? A woman she doesn’t know and has never heard of. She can’t shake off the feeling that she needs to do this, it’s important for herself and her life. Her journey begins in Paris and Grace doesn’t know what to expect, surely not what she finds there.
For me, there’s nothing more gripping than reading through more than one decade, the different time perspectives are challenging, as the characters are constantly changing. Such plots are more complex to read but fun to enjoy. I found the plot in itself conclusive, and the characters nicely created. The plot starts with a rather sad touch but with every page turned the story gets more powerful, not only because of Grace, who wins on confidence. The subject in itself is filled with power, the power to choose.
