This was my first Emily Henry book and I was lucky enough to win a copy for the Book Circle reading round.
Although I really liked the approach, for me the beginning was trying a bit too hard, but still the characters grew on me after a while. The author managed to let the characters grow, and make the story believable.
While the middle part was a little slow, the pace increased for the last part, along with my anticipation for the resolution.
I would have loved to learn more about the background of Miles, or how Daphne got along on her own. And still the ending rounded off everthing to my satisfaction.
The title “Funny Story” makes you think, it’s going to be all slapstick, but there also were quite some serious topics. Still it made me smirk ervery now and then, so a book I can recommand.
