This was my first book by Emily Henry and I have to say that I liked it so much that I read the whole book in one day. Needless to say, I really liked the story and there were even a few times when I chuckled out loud. 😉
Contrary to what the blurb suggests, this story is not about revenge. After reading the first few chapters, my first impression was that this was going to be a solid romance book - but I think it was more than that. It’s not just a love story, it’s also a story about the importance of friendship. Of course, I really liked the romantic aspect of the book, and I loved how adventurous Daphne and Miles were - going to the beach at night, kayaking at sunrise, dancing at the senior prom and so on. I also really liked how the author shows her love for books through Daphne being a librarian and the descriptions of the books, the reading circle with the kids and the atmosphere in the library gave the whole thing such a cozy feel.
I will definitely check out Emily Henry’s other books and look forward to more romantic feel-good reads.
