Sometimes a cold case gets new hope of getting solved when a new set of eyes gets hold of the files.
I felt that too many investigators were stirring the pot in this true crime novel. Much information got lost over time, and too much remained unsaid. It looked like a miracle when Detective Randy Mayer took up the case and began investigating every morsel he could find.
What I enjoyed the most was that all the facts were there, nothing was left out. A detailed reading of real events and interviews with witnesses and people involved. The author also mentions how difficult it is to work on cold cases back then and today. Some might think it is too detailed, especially in the courtroom, but I don’t. It is well-written, and the author shares just the right information to make the story coherent and enjoyable.
The relentless dedication is felt throughout the book, I highly recommend.
