Ann Stillwell was supposed to leave her small Hometown behind to work at the Metropolitan Museum of Art over the summer. But things turn out differently and she ends up working at The Cloisters, a different museum. There she starts to research Tarot cards and their meaning in history and quickly makes new friends. Soon things turn out to be a bit darker, and it is not sure who is friend or enemy. Was all of this just a coincidence or was it fate?
First of all, the cover is gorgeous. MIght be one reason I got the book. 🙈I really loved the bits and parts about the history of art and the descriptions of The Cloisters and learning about the tarot cards. The author studied those things and you can tell. What I also liked was that you could kind of tell there is something wrong with certain characters but you could not say for sure until the end.
But even with all this, there was something missing, it felt a bit flat. I cannot say what it is, with some characters there was no connection at all, which is kind of sad.
All in all it was in interesting read, I did not hate it, the history facts were great if you are into that. It was somewhere mediocre.
