I became interested in “One Italian Summer” after having read on a blog that this book is perfect for everyone who likes the series Gilmore Girls.
And uhm … hello?? Who does NOT like Gilmore Girls?! I had such a great time watching this show that I simply had to read “One Italian Summer”.
What’s the novel about?:
Katy Silver and her mom planned a trip to Positano, but Katy’s mother passes away before they can go. The death of her mother leaves Katy feeling lost - in her life, her marriage, her job…
However, Katy decides to go to Positano by herself and at this beautiful place she meets the young version of her dead mother …
“One Italian Summer” is really a book for Gilmore Girls fan. Moreover, it’s a love letter to mother-daughter-relationships.
After reading this book I really felt like going to Italy myself (Serles describes the setting, atmosphere and the food (!) perfectly), it’s just that Italian roads and especially the drivers scare me to the death… so I rather stick to reading😆
