Discover The Atlas Six, Olivie Blake's whip-smart dark academia sensation. Six young magicians are chosen for greatness. But as they study to become the best among rivals, the stakes are higher than they know.
I read the book because it was all over my social media and the cover is right up my alley. It started great with the different POV’s of the six candidates and I loved how each of them has different and unique voices and vibes about them. But eventually I was missing the plot. Like there wasn’t a lot going on. It is mostly all the vibes and such things and not that much plot. Overall I liked the book, but for me personally it dragged out a bit too much. I like to have some vibes but also some good story going on. So, not bad, but also not really that good. The hype on the internet probably made me expect more than it actually is. Still a good read though, it is nicely written.
Up to the last 50 pages I was ready to give this book at least 4 if not 5 stars. The characters are incredibly well written, the story is captivating and there is also some spice and sexual tension, which is always nice to have. However, the ending was so incredibly disappointing, with pretty much everything unresolved and many pages where the characters are simply too philosophical for their own good. Throughout these elongated last pages, I have been waiting for something to happen. Anything really. Just give me ANY resolution or action or whatever. I am so utterly disappointed, which is why this book does not deserve more stars. Nonetheless, I feel forced to read the sequel and i desperately hope it will provide the resolution I seek.
This book was all over my Instagram feed, so I decided to give it a try. Six talented students are given a year to do research in the library of Alexandria but only five are allowed to survive. At first it pulled me in.. A fast story, well written, interesting characters but then all of a sudden it fizzles out. I would have wished for a little more continuity. For fans of Leigh Bardugo.
