Though I liked the idea just fine and I wanted to know what was actually behind the five cheerleader’s deaths, I didn’t really care for any of the characters. I didn’t connect with our MC Monica and I realised that I might just be over books with a Highschool setting - I just tend to not get into it the same as with other books. One thing that irked me big time was that it’s never really confirmed that the person who texted her was also the one leaving the note in the house … we as readers are just to take it as Monica sees it, but there could be a miriad if other possibilities. The lack of process of eliminiation when it came to figuring out who wrote that bugged me. It does have a few plottwists that I enjoyed, and the fact that it has somewhat of an open end made me give this three stars still. In the end, the fact remains that I can’t even remember much of the plot anymore - which speaks for itself. Unfortunately this was quite the underwhelming and disappointing story, as I liked the premise and was hoping for a more engaging read.
