Being half Japanese, I was curious to find out how my second home country is represented in this novel. After having read her other novel, “The Northern Lights Lodge”, I had high expectations. But unfortunately the love story is not as realistic and engaging as the other one and the insights into the Japanese culture could have been more detailed. But maybe that’s simply due to the fact that I know Japan far too well…
