This story completely fooled me, more than the other books I have read by Freida McFadden. The direction the story takes from the start makes it easy to disapprove of one of the main characters. I truly believed in how the story might turn out. The first part of the book felt like it was intended to pull at the reader’s heartstrings. “The shift in perspective in the second part is when the claws come out, and the truth finally comes to light.” It all suddenly made sense, and with the loose ends tied up, I was quite satisfied with how the plot had turned out.
