I’m really sad to say this, but this was a 2⭐ read for me. Because at the end of the day, I was just… bored.
The only aspect that stood out to me was the “villain” and that idea of rewriting history to suit your own narrative. That felt uncomfortably relevant and was probably the only part that made me pause and appreciate the story.
But everything else just didn’t land for me.
I didn’t feel the romance at all. It was supposed to be this deep, all-consuming connection, but it never came across that way to me. It felt distant and a bit hollow, like I was being told how meaningful it was without ever actually experiencing it.
The structure also really didn’t work for me. The constant jumping and repetition because of the time travel made the story feel stagnant. Instead of building tension or adding emotional weight, it just felt like going in circles. After a while, I found myself skimming more and more.
And while the writing is undeniably beautiful, it sometimes felt like style over substance. It created a distance that made it hard for me to connect with the characters or care about what was happening.
I can see why others love it, but unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me at all.
