Went into The Midnight Library expecting (and wishing for) a more magical, fantastical adventure through parallel universes, but instead, it became more of a life-lesson book. I found this book comforting and inspiring & slowly warmed up to the story. Nora Seed is relatable and very human. Her pain comes from ordinary disappointments, and it was comforting to see that even in your 30s, it is okay not to have everything figured out. I also expected the library and reading to play a bigger role, but the library functions more as a metaphorical space. Overall, the story is reflective, and philosophically rich, especially in how it explores regret, happiness, success, and what makes life meaningful.
